The Italian with a thousand voices who learned to speak Argentine and dubbed Disney series for Latin America

For six years, Mathías Rapisarda did voice dubbing for the children's TV signal. He now directs the voices of Cocomelon, a work that will tour all of America.


Mathias Rapisarda,

was born in Bologna, Italy,

but at age 7 he came with his family to Ramos Mejía,

He started out imitating voices from his favorite movie, but later he trained, studied music, theater and for 

six years was the institutional voice of Disney XD

.

Today he directs the voices of the Latin version of the children's play

"Cocomelon"

, which will premiere in Mexico and then tour several countries. 

ELF, Little Ellen, Los Fungis, Tig and Seek, Interstellar Ella, Charlie Bear

and more.

In some of these films

was the voice of the protagonists and in all of them he was the director of the dubbing.

The truth is that for 6 years,

he gave his identity

to the recognized signal

 , also being the institutional voice.


He says that to enter Disney XD he had to carry out a closed, very selective casting where they were looking for an announcer with a wide range and versatility to interpret different promotions.

"There were like nine tests in one, after a month they told me that I was the voice of the signal in neutral for all of Latin America,"

she is proud.

Mathias in a recording studio, his place where he is happy.

His big dream as a boy was to draw for Disney and maybe it was being done in a camouflaged way.

"I realized over time that I was fulfilling my great dream, I was not drawing with a pencil but I was doing it with my voice, it was like a mime to the soul,"

says Tano, as his friends call him.

"My time at Disney XD was a wonderful stage, to think that my voice reached millions of children in different countries is incredible," he says

with great emotion.

Today he continues within the voice dubbing also from another role.

He is the dubbing musical director of the children's play Cocomelon,

which will soon be released in Mexico and will then tour all of Latin America.

For six years he was the voice of many characters on the children's channel Disney XD.

This project involves musical theater and dubbing.

"There are companies that make videos for children and decide to bring the product from the United States to Latin America in the form of a play.

My role is to be the voice director, both dubbing and musical coaching for the performers

," explains the born artist. in Italy.

He says that this task has a recorded part and a live one.

In the study part,

he shared the direction with Lolo Micucci, an Argentine musician and composer who was pianist for Mercedes Sosa, Horacio Guarany and Luciano Pereyra.

Although he cannot tell much about the play, he says that after touring several cities in Mexico, he

will arrive in Argentina during the winter holidays and will perform at the Teatro Coliseo.


The Lion King

"The Lion King was the only movie I had on VHS, I was little, I watched it every other day for a long time and playing around I began to imitate voices,

sometimes they asked me to do it and other times it drove my schoolmates crazy, but I realized that they liked it", says Tano with a laugh.

With the dubbing of characters, it reached the home of millions of children in Latin America.

Although at the age of 9 he had some theatrical experiences in musical comedy, at the age of 14 he

began his stage of study and training in music and theater.

She started the music conservatory with the guitar being his main instrument.

At the same time, he studied theater at the Norman Briski school,

Marcelo Daguerre, whom he recognizes as his first great teacher

with whom he went through 5 years of a wonderful experience as a teenager and inspired him to follow the artistic path.

Already at that stage, in the different plays in which he participated, he composed characters in neutral and it was funny.

Over the years he began to

compose music with a partner and that was his first self-management professional job.

Later he entered a casting made by

Pepe Cibrián and Ángel Mahler

, who signed up for more than 10,500 people and only 150 remained, then 50 for the final work.

"Every day on Channel 7 it was shown how a great play is being developed, from the casting to the staging. It was an incredible experience,

an enormous learning experience, there were people from all over the country and also from abroad," recalls the actor .

Dubbing increased in his career when the loss of a very important person in his life made him change course a bit.

"When my dad passed away I decided to get away from the stage a bit and stop putting my body so much and I went back to music a little more.

In order not to give up acting, I enrolled in a dubbing course and got to know his true world

," Mathias details.

It started as a boy's game, imitating voices from "The Lion King", his favorite movie.

Little by little he was understanding that it could be taken professionally but that you had to prepare and a lot.

"Dubbing is a branch of acting, the most important thing is interpretation, but music plays a lot and you have to have a lot of discipline,"

explains the artist who also says that he has always been interested in everything related to the Disney studio. 

"Here in Argentina, 80 percent of the Disney series are dubbed, movies are dubbed in Mexico,"

explains the man born in Bologna who little by little got into this world of dubbing until he began working for a studio. that he had as a client the great children's signal, in which he worked for six years.
