Although it only has 42 rooms, "Drisco" is considered one of the most prestigious hotels in the city.

Between Jaffa and Tel Aviv there is a relatively small hotel, where you can find only 42 rooms, and as soon as you enter it - you will feel as if you have arrived in Paris, Milan or any classic European capital.

Although the "Drisko" hotel opened only about 5 years ago, it is already considered one of the best hotels in the city.

It is housed in a historic building built in 1866 and has gone through several incarnations, with most of the time being used as a hotel.

During the years 1870-1940, it was called the "Jerusalem Hotel" and was one of the most famous and luxurious hotels in the region, one that also attracted quite a few of the world's richest people who came to visit the Holy Land.

Among the prominent names that used to visit the hotel was the author Mark Twain ("The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn"), after whom the hotel's special cellar is named, where hotel guests come every evening to drink wine and have snacks.

The hotel has paintings hanging on the walls, which have been accurately reproduced from the time when the Germans stayed in the hotel, and most of them refer mainly to the culture of alcohol consumption at that time.

It also contains photos of the hotel in its early years, which highlights the impressive reconstruction of the spaces in the hotel for that period.

The hotel is decorated in an ancient style, and it is hard not to notice the large number of staff members and their attention to every detail.

The hotel has a total of three floors, with some of the rooms on the third floor facing the sea, which allows great enjoyment of the Jaffa sunsets.

Even if your room does not face the sea, you can go up to the roof of the hotel and from there look out towards the beaches of Jaffa and Tel Aviv.

The size of the rooms in the hotel starts from about 18 square meters and reaches up to about 65 square meters, depending on the type of room you choose.

All are designed in a classic European style, which is almost exactly restored as the hotel was, which was abandoned for 40 years, back in its infancy.

The hotel is located about a 5-minute walk from the sea, a few minutes' walk from the Levinsky market and the station park, and on the other side also a short walk from the Clock Square in Jaffa, the Nega neighborhood and Florentin - the ultimate vacation spot in the area.

what a view

An interesting bonus for hotel guests is the "George and John" restaurant located there, which was ranked first in Israel and sixth in the Middle East and North Africa in the latest ranking of Best 50. The restaurant is located in the hotel lobby, and after tasting some of its dishes, you can understand why it received such a ranking .

We won't be surprised if she gets a Michelin star after the guide enters Israel.

The price at the hotel starts from about NIS 1,500 per night.

Naturally, in more popular periods the price rises according to demand.

The hotel is suitable for couples, and it is important to know that it does not have a pool or large spaces intended for children.

The lobby designed in the hotel is small compared to the large lobby of other hotels located on the Tel Aviv coastline, and the style of the hotel is one that invites mainly romantic vacations, business people and those looking for peace.

The hotel also has a spa, a gym, a meeting room and, as mentioned, a rooftop that you shouldn't miss.

By the way, it is interesting to know that the hotel was named after the brothers George and John Drisko who founded it in 1866 - and therefore also the name of the restaurant located in it.

Not just for couples.
