At the same time as stormy and unusual weather that includes snow and very low temperatures, in recent hours the country has been dealing with two deadly earthquakes that have claimed the lives of more than 1,500 people, while many more are listed as missing, thousands of buildings have collapsed and many have been left without homes.
Naturally, the state of emergency and the weather directly and immediately affects the entry and exit of tourists to and from Turkey.
Many flights to and from Istanbul were canceled in the last day, both due to the unusual weather and following the earthquakes.
Flights were also canceled to and from Israel, but also on routes from Istanbul and Istanbul from many destinations around the world.
In talks with the major tourism companies in Israel, senior officials of the companies tell "Israel Today" about the same trend: "There are cancellations. There are many more cancellations than usual and there is also a slowdown in bookings. We hope that the weather will improve soon and that the whole issue of the earthquake is behind us."

It is important to emphasize - the earthquake was mainly felt in the Gaziantep region, very far from Istanbul, and in fact it is completely at the other end of the country.
The epicenter of the earthquake was closer to Israel than to Istanbul - a fact that emphasizes the enormous distance.
In conversations with Israelis who are in Istanbul, they say that they did not feel the earthquake in the country, which was felt in many parts of Israel.
Meanwhile, Turkish Airlines announced that they will be flexible and will allow changes and cancellations under very favorable conditions following the deadly earthquake in Turkey.
