Michael Roth: Deliver what was promised and ammunition instead of new weapon systems for Ukraine

9.01 a.m .:

The SPD foreign politician Michael Roth does not consider it expedient to talk about "always new weapon systems" for Ukraine.

Instead, the promised should be delivered quickly, said Roth in the ZDF morning magazine.

Ammunition is also important: According to experts, the West is not in a position to "restore the ammunition that Ukraine will use up in a month" so quickly.

“Now it's about consolidation.

Munitions, repairs, repairs,” Roth said.

Regarding the halting arms deliveries, he said that Germany was “very specific”, as were Poland, Great Britain, the USA and Canada.

But the European alliance for the Leopard 2 main battle tank included others.

“Now the other states have to deliver, too.”

Roth is chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Bundestag.

A public hearing with experts on law enforcement in connection with the Ukraine war will take place there on Monday.

Roth said Russia was committing war crimes and crimes against humanity on a daily basis.

"We owe it to the victims that we work through this and that we then hold those responsible accountable."

"elections" in occupied Ukrainian territories

8:48 a.m.:

Russia apparently plans to hold elections in the occupied Ukrainian territories.

This is reported by the British Ministry of Defense, citing intelligence reports.

The aim is therefore to present the areas as an integral part of the Russian Federation.

"This follows ongoing attempts to 'russify' the occupied territories, which includes overhauling education, communications and transportation systems," the ministry said on Twitter.

The leadership in Moscow will use the "self-confirming argument" that new elections justify the occupation.

The chairwoman of the Russian Federation Council, Valentina Matviyenko, recently announced that preparations for the elections were already underway.

According to British information, these alleged votes are scheduled for September 10th and should therefore take place on the same day as in the Russian regions.

The British Ministry stressed that in Russia there was "no meaningful democratic" choice even in elections at the regional level.

"Together with our allies, we will soon train the Ukrainian armed forces in the use of this equipment."
