Efforts to locate and pressure survivors of the severe earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria during the night are increasing.

Diseases warn of the harsh weather conditions and there is a growing fear that those trapped will not survive long under the ruins due to the intense cold.

In the Hatay district, four children of one family were rescued safely from a collapsed residential building.

"Thank God, we are all fine, we got out of it safely," the mother of the family told the news site of the Hurrayat newspaper, which is affiliated with the government in Turkey.

In the capital of the province, the city of Antakya, 11 residents were safely rescued from a collapsed three-story building.

Four bodies were found in the building.

North of there, in the city of Diyarbakır, the rescue forces arrived at the scene of the collapse of a multi-story building.

After searching the place, they heard a voice from the ruins and started talking to a young boy who told them that he and his relatives were trapped under the ruins.

"I'm fine. My sister is also in good condition. One of my brothers is behind me and another one is making noises from below."

Oded Tadmor, an Israeli citizen, rescued himself from a hotel in the city of Iskadoron in the eastern part of the country.

The citizen wrote on the Twitter social network: "Waking up to an earthquake of 7.9 on the Richter scale in a hotel room on the sixth floor in Iskenderun, Turkey. Gusting wind, falling walls, dust, screams, darkness. In three seconds I'm in a stairwell. The whole building is shaking. Waiting for it to calm down, running to the room taking clothes , wallet and passport. My business partner in the next room. His door is stuck and won't open kicking. Nothing"
