The Greek Coast Guard announced today the death of three migrants, and the loss of more than 20, as a boat carrying them sank off the coast of the country.
And the French Press Agency quoted a spokeswoman for the Coast Guard as saying today: “A boat carrying 41 migrants sank after colliding with a coral reef near the Greek island of Lesbos, killing three people, two women and a man, and the loss of more than 20 people, while the Coast Guard teams were able to recover.” 16 people saved.
The spokeswoman indicated that rescue teams are continuing their operations in search of the missing.
Four children and a woman died last Sunday when a boat carrying another group of illegal immigrants sank off the Greek island of Leros.
