A Lebanese ministerial delegation will head to Syria tomorrow to hold a series of meetings with Syrian officials, dealing with humanitarian affairs, the repercussions of the earthquake, and the Lebanese capabilities available to assist in the areas of relief.
According to the Lebanese National Information Agency, the delegation includes Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Abdallah Bouhabib, Public Works and Transport Ali Hamiyah, Social Affairs Hector Hajjar, Agriculture Abbas Hajj Hassan, Secretary General of the High Relief Commission Major General Muhammad Khair, and Director of Medical Care at the Ministry of Health Dr. Joseph Helou.
The Minister of Public Works and Transport in the Lebanese caretaker government, Ali Hamiyeh, announced in statements earlier today the opening of the Lebanese airspace and ports to facilitate the arrival of aid and rescue teams to Syria.
