Rescuers in the city of Halab found the baby girl in the ruins of a building in the north of the country • Her parents were refugees who fled from the Deir ez-Zor area • The girl is the only survivor of her entire family

A baby born under the rubble of the Aleppo earthquake was rescued safely a few hours after her birth, but her parents and her entire family perished in the collapse of their residence in the city of Aleppo.

Syrian media reported that the baby's mother, the daughter of refugees from the city of Deir ez-Zor, who fled to the area of the town of Afrin, died after giving birth, apparently from blood loss.

Syria: A baby girl was born among the ruins in Milk - her mother died

A video of the moments of the rescue of the baby, who is seen being held by one of the rescuers, was circulated on the networks.

The members of the rescue organization feared for the toddler's life due to the intense cold prevailing in northern Syria.

The rescue operations in these areas of northern Syria suffer from a lack of equipment, manpower and infrastructure to search for survivors and get them out of the ruins.

The electricity network and the roads are disrupted from long decades of war and the rescue forces have not yet reached the hundreds of collapsed buildings.

"We are used to digging people out of the rubble, but the situation at the moment is different. So many people are trapped under the rubble and they will die because we don't have the right equipment to reach everyone. We have nothing left," said Ismail Al-Abdullah, a volunteer with the "White Helmets" organization that operates in the north Syria.
