Algeria announced sending urgent aid to Syria to provide relief to the afflicted, as a result of the devastating earthquake that hit it at dawn yesterday, and led to hundreds of victims.
The Algerian newspaper Al-Shorouk reported that Interior Minister Ibrahim Mourad supervised this morning the departure of Algerian Air Force planes to Syria, loaded with about 115 tons of aid in the form of food and medical supplies, tents and blankets to help those affected by the earthquake.
An Algerian team from the Civil Protection arrived at Aleppo Airport today, to participate in the search and rescue and relief operations in the places hit by the earthquake.
