The Mexico City police arrested Carlos N, an alleged brother of drug trafficker Rafael Caro Quintero, on Monday.
This was announced by the city's security secretary, Omar García Harfuch, on his Twitter social network: "This afternoon colleagues from the Citizen Security Secretariat arrested Carlos 'N', Miguel Hudalgo, a member of a criminal group at the mayor's office which operates in the north of the country, was secured a vehicle without license plates and a firearm.
The CDMX Police is alert to any situation.”
As reported by the agency, in the arrest he was seized eight kilos of marijuana, 124 doses of cocaine, a short firearm, four chargers and 33 useful cartridges.
The identification of the man, Carlos Caro Quintero, details that he was born in February 1962, he lives in the municipality of Guasave, in the State of Sinaloa.
The detainee has assured the capital authorities that he is the brother of the Narco de Narcos of the eighties, who was also arrested by the authorities in July of last year.
Founder of the legendary Guadalajara cartel, later called the Sinaloa cartel, Rafael Caro Quintero was the drug trafficker who was active in Mexico for the longest years and who, after his apprehension, resides in the Altiplano high-security prison.
Until now, there was no record that the capo had a brother named Carlos.
Carlos Caro Quintero was arrested this Monday when the police carried out prevention patrols in the wealthy Lomas de Chapultepec neighborhood.
The man was traveling aboard a luxury van at the time he was intercepted.
In addition to having assured that he was Rafael's brother, he has claimed to belong to the Sinaloa Cartel, official sources indicate to this newspaper.
The detainee had a criminal record for carrying a firearm in the State of Jalisco and for creating a scandal on public roads in Durango.
