A number of volunteer teams, associations, and official, civil, and youth activities in As-Suwayda governorate launched initiatives to support the governorates affected by the effects of the earthquake, which caused great human and material losses, within the framework of cooperation and solidarity among the members of the Syrian society.

A member of the Executive Office of the As-Suwayda Governorate Council for the Social Affairs and Relief Sector, Raghadi Al-Ghouthani, praised the initiative of many people, activities and local community associations, to provide support to those affected in the governorates affected by the earthquake, where in-kind donations are coordinated and collected to prepare and send them to the affected governorates in coordination with the provincial council.

The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of As-Suwayda, according to its Chairman, Nabih Bakri, is preparing two cars, one of which is for various foodstuffs, and the other for potatoes and apples, at a value of about 100 million Syrian pounds.

According to the Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Mersat Charity, Educational and Development Foundation, Rimaz Abdel Hay, 500 winter coats and quantities of infant formula were initially donated to be sent as part of the list of aid sent to the rest of the governorates.

The Oxygen volunteer team, as its coordinator Sherif Al-Maqt mentioned, launched an initiative to collect a thousand blankets with the participation of civil and charitable activities, in addition to the support of the Jana team for sustainable development and the Bassmat Watan Charitable Group, to provide various clothes and send them to the affected governorates.

Many NGOs also announced the opening of the door to collect material and in-kind donations, including the White Hands Mada Charitable Association, which receives donations, as stated by its chairperson, Mayada Obaid, at the headquarters of the Farah Club for Down Syndrome in the center of As-Suwayda, while the Children of Tomorrow Association, according to its president, Ruba Al-Dhiab, called for those who wish With assistance, call the numbers 0994262919 and 0941974133 or the association’s account number in the Real Estate Bank, stressing that this assistance comes from the responsibility of the association, and its constant endeavor to provide assistance and support to every child in need of it, in addition to allocating a quantity of clothing within the assistance provided to the affected governorates.

And the deputy head of the Council of the Voluntary Chrysanthemum Team, Sultan Zahreddine, stated that the group launched a campaign to collect blankets, food, baby formula and medicines to be sent to those affected by the earthquake, while a group of young people from Shaqa and its villages in the northern countryside of As-Suwayda launched an initiative for all the villages and towns of As-Suwayda, in which they expressed their readiness to go to the governorates of Lattakia. and Aleppo, to help with anything they can do, whether emergency or rescue from under the rubble, while the Rami and Al-Matuna Associations provided an amount of about 6 million Syrian pounds, a quantity of cans and baby diapers.

In response to the current circumstances and to secure the return of university students studying in the governorates of Lattakia, Aleppo, Homs and Tartous to As-Suwayda governorate, coordination and cooperation took place with tourist transport companies operating in the governorate and volunteers from the owners of pulleys operating on the Damascus-Suwayda line, according to a member of the Executive Office of the As-Suwayda Governorate Council for the transport sector, Engineer Ali Al-Hajjar, where has been ramping up

Trips for this purpose since last night, in addition to coordinating with the Land Transport Workers Union to secure the transportation of students coming from the Northern Departure Center to their villages, in coordination with the Center’s management and via buses line these villages at a time when many residents and civil, economic, tourist, sports and religious activities announced their readiness to receive Students who are unable to reach their villages due to weather conditions, in addition to the provision of many bus drivers and private cars to take them to their villages.

These initiatives remain a small part of the many civil initiatives taking place in the Syrian governorates, to provide support and assistance to the people of the governorates affected by the earthquake that struck the country at dawn yesterday.
