Today, the Governorate of Rif Dimashq formed a committee at the governorate level in order to receive material and in-kind donations, and a bank account was opened for this purpose for the benefit of those affected by the earthquake that struck Syria at dawn yesterday.
The Deputy Governor of Rif Dimashq, Jassem Al-Mahmoud, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the governorate opened a number of centers in the regions of Al-Duwair, Al-Zabadani and Al-Nabek to receive foodstuffs and in-kind donations, in coordination with the heads of city councils in the governorate, to be delivered to those affected by the earthquake, in the governorates of Aleppo, Lattakia and Hama. Instructing the members of the executive office, each within his region, to communicate with owners of economic and commercial activities, with the aim of collecting financial donations for the benefit of those affected by the earthquake.
Al-Jassem indicated that the Directorate of Technical Services in the governorate was instructed to instruct the Structural Safety Committee to inspect the damaged buildings, which had cracks as a result of the earthquake, to take the appropriate action towards them.
Yesterday, the governorate sent full ambulance teams with its medical staff, mobile clinics, vehicles, trucks, and rescue teams, to support the stricken governorates that were affected by the earthquake.
