The Democratic People's Republic of Korea affirmed its determination to continue strengthening its military capabilities in the face of external provocations and threats.
And the Korean Central News Agency stated that the Democratic Korean President, Kim Jong Un, expressed during the fourth expanded meeting of the Eighth Central Military Commission of the ruling Labor Party yesterday, his confidence in the capabilities of the country's military forces and their effective and ideal performance of the tasks assigned to them.
The committee discussed ways to expand the DPRK's operational combat training more accurately, to deal with the prevailing situation and major military and political tasks for 2023, and long-term issues related to the direction of army construction.
The meeting came as the DPRK prepares for a military parade marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People's Army on Wednesday, and amid mounting provocations by South Korea and the United States by holding frequent military exercises.
