This girl is only 18 months old.
After sunrise on Monday morning, the full horror of the earthquake was also evident in the northern Syrian city of Azaz, a few kilometers from the border with Turkey.
The girl, Raghad Ismail, is a survivor from this collapsed building.
The little girl's family had to flee within the country as a result of the Syrian civil war.
Neighbor:
"The rescue operation took more than two hours before we could pull her out of the rubble."
Abu Hussam, the girl's uncle:
'The roof collapsed right over the family.
The father and the one and a half year old girl survived.
The father's back is believed to be broken, but the girl is fine.
The pregnant mother, the five-year-old sister and the four-year-old brother are all dead.”
According to the authorities, more than 5,000 people were killed in the earthquake early Monday morning and dozens of aftershocks in Turkey and Syria.
Tens of thousands are injured, countless buildings have collapsed.
In Syria, a particularly large number of internally displaced persons are affected, who have retreated to areas controlled by the opposition in the north of the country.
Civil war has been raging in the country for twelve years.
