Gustavo Rodríguez wins the prestigious "Alfaguara Novel Award 2023" with "Cien guinea pigs", a tragicomedy that addresses the topic of the elderly and their care

With 175,000 euros, a sculpture by Martín Chirino, and a tour of the most important book fairs, this is how the Peruvian Gustavo Rodriguez (1968) enters the history of literature.

"(...) we turn people into objects, just as we put objects in storage rooms, in warehouses, when they no longer serve us. I fear that this is being transferred to the human being and it was part of the topics that I wanted to touch on with this novel".
