Drone footage: rescuers in Turkish cities search for earthquake survivors (Reuters)
More than a day has passed since the deadly and tragic earthquake across Turkey and Syria, which has so far claimed the lives of more than 4,000 people, along with tens of thousands who, according to estimates, are still buried under the rubble and waiting for their lives to be saved.
Nissim Sher Shalom, an Israeli kosher supervisor who stayed in the disaster area, spoke with Anat Davidov and Gideon Oko on 103fm and told about the moments of horror.
"Right now I'm out of the disaster area, it was a miracle," he admitted.
"I was in Gaziantep in the central region of both earthquakes. I'm used to earthquakes, I live in Turkey, it's not new to me. Yesterday it was something completely different. I was shocked when it happened, I didn't believe that something like this could happen. I was sleeping, I wake up and feel the whole bed shaking , I look out the window and I see the view moving along with my bed. Closets open and close, plaster falls from the ceiling, objects fall, all this alongside crazy screams in the building."
"They started to hear people coming down, a speaker called the residents out of their houses. They are coming out, trying to understand the incident," he described.
"Because I'm used to it, I know that after one earthquake, the subsequent earthquakes will be less. The second earthquake caught me in the same situation, in a hotel room on the 13th floor, which is extremely scary."
"Everything is broken and destroyed"
At the end of his words, Minister Shalom sadly shared: "The earthquake that was in Izmir at the time was also accompanied by a terrible noise, the noise of demons. Not this time. Everything is destroyed, everything is destroyed, literally destruction and devastation. The factory where I work, God willing, was standing, but there are no workers One worker is looking for his sister, the second one is burying his brother, the third suddenly has no home. There is no fuel, no shops, no transportation, it pains me to see this because I love the Turks very much. Access to the disaster area is impossible. As for the roads, everything is broken And destroyed, there is no option to come."

Lior, an Israeli staying in Istanbul that did not suffer the heavy blows of the disaster, also told about what was happening.
"It's freezing here at Ramot," he shared.
"We experienced the earthquake. There were all kinds of noises at night, I thought it was from the wind and the storms. A lot of people came out of the hotel rooms into the stairwell, we realized it wasn't just the storm itself. We walked around here today, you could feel the difference in the atmosphere. The main street here was empty. Once upon a time First I'm in Istanbul and the main street is empty."
Later, he described his affection for Istanbul: "It's an amazing city, energies, food, atmosphere. People are shocked. There was a tense atmosphere here, especially since there was another earthquake and they say there will be another one. I'm more afraid of my flight back to Israel tomorrow, flights were canceled because of the weather ".
