The Minister of Public Works and Transport in the Lebanese caretaker government, Ali Hamiyah, announced the opening of the Lebanese airspace and ports, to facilitate the arrival of aid and rescue teams to Syria.
Hamiyah said in today's statements: The ports of Tripoli and Beirut and Beirut airport will be opened to air and sea transport companies to dock at Lebanese ports and land at Beirut airport with exemption from fees and taxes to facilitate the arrival of aid to Syria, and this is the least that can be offered to the Syrian people.
Hamiyah indicated that a delegation of the Lebanese Army's Engineering Regiment, the Civil Defense, the Red Cross and the Fire Brigade will be sent to Syria to contribute to the rescue work for those affected by the earthquake.
