Opinion We have to fight to keep the high-tech people from leaving the country Israel today

2023-02-07T05:08:49.400Z

The voices that are heard from the hi-techists in Israel and abroad are real, and we should not underestimate or roll our eyes. These are not words of threat - these are words of real pain for the loss of hope

Every Zionist Jew is moved by the words "Our hope is not yet lost... to be a free people in our country".

These days a significant part of the public feels - rightly or wrongly - that the hope of being a free nation is fading.

People feel that the proposed changes will ultimately lead, by this coalition or the next, to the loss of freedom.

They feel an immediate threat to their way of life.

In the Declaration of Independence it is written: "The State of Israel shall be open to Jewish immigration and kibbutzim."

The cynics write in opinion columns that those who do not like it here - should leave.

For many, however, it is a real option, not just a threat.

Some of them don't even need to leave - they're not here anymore, and they just won't come back.

Sometimes, in high-tech companies, relocation is required and required as part of the job.

The founder packs his things, and together with his family moves to Silicon Valley or New York.

Those founders of companies, who are the drivers of the Israeli high-tech locomotive, the salt of the land, travel because the investors urge them, and also because the move is required as part of the natural development of the company.

During their stay in the USA, most Israelis join the local Israeli community, what is known as the "Israeli kibbutz" in the USA.

They are in the West - and their heart is in the East.

Are in the USA - but breathe Israel. Disconnect in body - but never in soul. Live a life of abundance in the land of unlimited possibilities - but the heart connects them to the place they came from. This is a phenomenon that does not exist in any other immigrant community in the USA, neither in this scope nor in these strengths .

The exciting thing is that after the exit these Israelis, who met with tens of millions of dollars and who got used to a life of abundance and luxury, choose and want to return home.

Something draws them back to where they grew up.

Despite the cost of living, politics and the status quo.

These are the family, the sun, the food, and above all - the feeling and belonging.

I know these people intimately.

Those who are still here and those who are already there.

They build amazing companies, with priceless value.

Sell or issue, but in the end - always return to Israel.

The Corona period intensified these feelings and made them realize what is really important to them and where they want to raise their children.

But what was always obvious, is no longer obvious to many of them.

The voices that are being heard now from the hit-techists in Israel and abroad are real, and we should not underestimate or roll our eyes.

I hear the voices, and they are not threatening words.

These are words of real pain about the loss of hope.

Those who want identity politics - should continue to close their ears.

Being right is not a supreme value.

It is possible and necessary to strive for a compromise that is acceptable to all.

As we saw very well in the law to cancel residency for terrorists, a law can be passed with a majority of almost 90 members of the Knesset for the benefit of the entire people, which will not become an issue in the next elections.

Both sides may win.

We are one people.

Hightists should not be fought for only because of their economic value, but mainly because of unity.

were we wrong

We will fix it!
