The police arrested a 39-year-old man who was suspected of graffitiing more than 130 places in Hong Kong from January to February, including private buildings, shops, and school exterior walls.
During the police operation, the tools and clothes worn by the arrested man were seized.
It is reported that the arrested man is a performance artist. Recently he was out of work and wandered around, and graffitied the same pattern in different places in Hong Kong. He was then investigated and arrested by the police.

The police stated that they have received reports in the past few weeks that the exterior walls of buildings and public facilities in different parts of Hong Kong were defaced. The case was handed over to the West Kowloon Regional Crime Unit for investigation. ) At about 3 p.m., a 39-year-old man surnamed Chen was arrested in a unit in Wo Che Village, Sha Tin, on suspicion of criminal damage. He is currently being detained for investigation.
Police officers also seized the tools and clothes worn by the arrested man in the unit and another industrial building unit in Kwai Chung District.

The police said that the arrested man was suspected of using black paint to deface the exterior walls of buildings or public facilities at more than 130 different locations in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories from January to February this year.
The defaced facilities included private buildings, shops, school facades, electrical boxes and flyovers, etc.
Some facility managers reported the incident to the police after discovering that the facility had been defaced.
Police stress that criminal damage is a serious offence.
According to Section 60 of the Crimes Ordinance (Chapter 200 of the Laws of Hong Kong), the maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years' imprisonment. The police appeal to the public not to defy the law.
