From March 14 to April 14 inclusive, no flight will take off or land at Strasbourg-Entzheim airport due to renovation work on the runway and in the terminal.
This work, the first of this scale since 2000, "
will consist in particular in renovating the entire wearing course of the track as well as that of the beginnings of the access ramps, the installation of new LED beaconing more energy-efficient and the change of the beaconing command control system
", details the airport operator on its website.
The closure of the Alsatian airport, which celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2023, comes during a period of "
relatively low traffic [...] at the junction between the winter and summer aeronautical seasons
".
In March, only 10 to 15 flights take off per day from this airport, where the low-cost airline Volotea is most established.
