The Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry donated a sum of 300 million Syrian pounds to help those affected by the earthquake that hit Syria yesterday morning.
And the head of the chamber, Mazen Hammad, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the amount was paid into the Syrian Trust for Development account opened in Byblos Bank for the benefit of relief work.
Hammad pointed out that the Chamber invited all commercial, industrial and economic actors in Tartous Governorate to play their social and humanitarian role and to donate to help our brothers affected by the earthquake.
Hammad indicated that he personally donated 700 million pounds, through which 5,000 food baskets will be provided to those affected by the earthquake in the governorates of Tartous and Lattakia, in addition to direct subsidies for them, which will be implemented through a team of workers in the Chamber in cooperation with the administrative units.
