The director of the education department in Elad, Mordechai Bari, who is suspected of committing sexual offenses against minors, did not participate in the conference alongside the minister of education.

This is following the publication in Vala!

on Friday, according to which Barry is expected to take an active part in the conference organized by the Association of Education Directors, held this week in Eilat.

Barry was supposed to speak on the panel alongside the director of the ultra-orthodox district at the Ministry of Education.

Minister of Education Yoav Kish and the director general of the ministry Assaf Tselal appeared at the conference this week. During the three days of the training, the chairman of the local government center Haim Bibbs, the secretary general of the Teachers' Union Yaffe Ben David, the chairman of the teachers' organization Ran Erez, the chairman of the parents' leadership will also speak Mirom Schiff and Student Council Chairman Ran Shai.

About a year ago, Barry was arrested due to complaints about a series of indecent acts by students, and the suspicions against him still stand.

Wow!

It was learned that the case in his case was transferred late last week for review by the Central District Attorney's Office.

Now the prosecutor's office will be required to decide whether to file an indictment against him or to close the case.

Although he is still defined as a suspect, Barry holds a sensitive position in the municipality, which involves contact and meeting with children.

In addition, Barry also serves as a member of the board of directors of the National Association of Education Departments, as a representative of an ultra-orthodox city.

The investigation against him was opened in January last year.

In the process, complaints were received from children who were less than 14 years old at the time when the acts were allegedly committed, when he was a teacher at an educational institution in Modi'in Illit about 14 years ago.

Bari's lawyer Yehuda Farid stated that: "Mr. Bari is a veteran educator, and he has many rights. Mr. Bari has educated thousands of students in the past, and it goes without saying that this complaint is the only complaint that has apparently been registered against him in all the decades that he has been working as a teacher and administrator. Another important It should be noted from what emerges from the suspicions that these are apparently violent offenses, and the connection to indecent acts is puzzling and not at all understandable. Suspicions that Mr. Barry also completely denies."

"As you know, every person has the presumption of innocence," said the Municipality of Elad in response to the previous publication in Walla!

At the end of last week: "The court decided to release him without any conditions or restrictions on his occupation, and even the prosecutor's office and the police, who represent the public and are in charge of his protection, did not submit any request to suspend him from his job. Therefore, the municipality does not impose his sentence without a legal decision."

The Ministry of Education asked to clarify that they are not the organizers of the conference, even though their symbol appears next to its organizers.

"This is a conference organized by the Association of Directors of the Departments of Education in the local authorities, and not by the Ministry. We emphasize that the Ministry had no involvement with the contents or the participants."

The Association of Directors of Education Departments responded that "Mordechai Bari is the director of the education department in the city of Elad. As far as we know, and as stated, there is no decision in this matter. We respect every person, as they say, an investigation is not an accusation and a person is innocent until proven guilty."

The Magen Aid Center, which accompanies one of the complainants against Barry, said last week: "We would have expected that a person who is under investigation for such serious crimes against children would take a step back until things are clarified. It is strange that a conference of the Ministry of Education, an official body of the State of Israel, is hosted by a person who He is being investigated for crimes against minors and he will be given the honor to participate as a panel member. We ask the Israel Police and the Prosecutor's Office to speed up the investigation and bring justice to the victims. We will continue to stand by the victims and help with all the means at our disposal."
