Susanne Petz brings the topic of self-love to German cinemas with a documentary film.

She is also publishing her new book.

Münsing - The documentary "...wie Dich selbst?" by Susanne Petz and Ralph Gladitz was presented in a premiere at the Five Lakes Film Festival in 2021.

However, the theatrical release did not materialize due to the corona pandemic.

Now the strip about the power of self-love is coming to cinemas nationwide.

The power of self-love: Münsinger author with book and film on more acceptance and self-confidence

At the same time, the filmmaker and author from Münsing is publishing her new book “With love for us – the transforming power of self-love”.

In the book, she refers to the film and focuses even more intensely on the question: what if people could love themselves without ifs and buts?

How would life and society change then?

The book is not a guide in the traditional sense, but rather an inventory and an invitation to self-reflection.

Petz would be too perfect if she could do exactly what she has been trying to convey as a business coach for years and now sums it up in her new book.

"Healthy self-love ensures that we feel comfortable with ourselves and are therefore an interesting counterpart for other people." Easily said.

But Petz also likes to be critical.

During the photo session for her new book, the author pays meticulous attention to outfit, pose and facial expression.

Self-love, she says, has nothing to do with selfishness or selfishness.

It's more about a healthy appreciation, one's own freedom of expression and the necessary self-confidence.

"It's hard work" - author from Münsing herself not free from everyday stress

So she is currently sitting at her desk in the beautiful old house in the forest near Lake Starnberg near Ambach and is offering her film to German cinemas.

"It's hard work," she knows.

But it works.

In Hamburg, Dortmund, Munich and other Bavarian cities, Petz will soon accompany cinema screenings with film talks and book presentations.

During her everyday coaching, she noticed an important aspect: "No matter how successful people are, they find it difficult to take their own needs seriously."

She, too, often catches herself getting carried away by the stress of everyday life.

In "Living in Intoxication", the title of the first chapter, the Münsinger describes herself and her work.

“We lose the sense of ourselves.

We can endure anything.” For Petz, it is clear that “the splitting off of one's own feelings happens early in childhood”.

As adults, you have to consciously work out opening it again.

After many years as a political scientist and coach: "Self-love is the key skill"

The book “With love for us” is divided into four parts.

Among other things, Petz sheds light on the fear of too much love, the way to oneself and being touchable again for contact with others.

After many years of experience as a coach and political scientist, she is convinced: "Self-love is the key skill for any kind of change - personally and socially."

Petz has lived in Muensing since 2008.

Born in Westphalia, she studied political science in Munich and worked as an editor at a radio station.

She produced film contributions for the ZDF women's magazine Mona Lisa and managed her own film production.

As a freelance journalist, she wrote for the taz and Cosmopolitan.

Petz has been working as a business coach for 15 years.

Further information: The theatrical release with film discussion and book presentation is on Thursday, February 9, at 8 p.m. in the Wolfratshausen cinema and at 7.45 p.m. in the wide-screen cinema in Starnberg.

The book "Mit Liebe zum Wir" will be available in stores from Tuesday, February 14th.
