The Syrian Embassy in Russia called for solidarity with those affected in Syria by the earthquake, which resulted in hundreds of victims.
The embassy said in a statement: “To embody the national unity among the people of our country, and to face the repercussions of the earthquake that struck Syria, which caused the death of hundreds of victims and the injury and displacement of thousands of them, our embassy calls on all members of our community in the Russian Federation and the Commonwealth of Independent States to show solidarity with those affected, and to contribute their financial donations.” Or in kind, so that the embassy can send it to Syria in the fastest and shortest possible way to alleviate their suffering.”
Today, an expanded meeting was held at the embassy with some members of the community, and a joint mini-committee was formed from the embassy and the community to manage the collection of in-kind and cash donations.
In addition, some businessmen pledged to provide a good amount of men's and women's clothing and children's clothing as well, and Cham Wings Airlines decided to transport the donations for free to Damascus on its flights from Moscow, and the first quantity of these in-kind donations may be shipped tomorrow, Wednesday, on the flight of Cham Wings Company .
