Former Peruvian President Alberto Fujimori is staying at Hospital II de Vitarte in the city of Lima, after presenting "irregular heart rate," the Peruvian Social Security (EsSalud) said in a statement.
Fujimori was transferred to the health center on Monday night, where he was treated by medical personnel on duty.

"The medical personnel present managed to stabilize the patient," the statement added.
The former president is under observation and must undergo medical examinations, added EsSalud.
