The cadres of youth organizations participated in supporting civil defense men in the various locations affected by the earthquake throughout Lattakia governorate, organizing blood donation campaigns, and contributing to equipping shelters with basic supplies to receive affected people and families.

Tahani Shliha, head of the Youth and Sports Office of the Arab Socialist Baath Party branch in Lattakia, confirmed in a statement to SANA reporter that what is happening today reflects the true spirit of the Syrians with their unity, love, and rush to help their brothers, despite the limited capabilities available.

Shaliha referred to the efforts of young cadres to prepare shelter centers in Hall No. (2) in the Sports City and all sports clubs, the youth branch shelter center, the institutes branch, and the Baath Brigades center with blankets, mattresses, food and drink before nightfall, and to secure a warm, safe and comfortable place for all those affected.

In turn, Gandhi Daoud, secretary of the Lattakia branch of the Revolutionary Youth Union, pointed out that 68 people from the affected families were received in the shelter center, which was equipped at the branch’s headquarters according to what was available, and that they were provided with the blankets, blankets and canned foodstuffs they needed, in addition to distributing medicines to those in need.

The young man, Muhammad Fatu, was one of the first volunteers to answer the call of humanitarian duty to join his companions with the firefighting and civil defense personnel to participate in removing the rubble of the dilapidated buildings in the southern Raml neighborhood. The branch of the Revolutionary Youth Union, helping to equip it, receiving those affected, ensuring their comfort and securing their needs.

The volunteers, Hanan Jamous, Hussein Habib and Ali Saqr, expressed their grief and deep regret for those who perished as a result of the earthquake and the great damage it caused to property, stressing their readiness and continuity to provide everything they could, to perform their duty to the fullest extent towards their families, their community and the people of their province. the responsibility.
