The death toll from the earthquake in the city of Jableh has so far reached 254 deaths and 171 injuries, ranging in severity from light to severe.
The head of the Jiblah City Council, Eng. Ahmed Qandil, said in a statement to SANA reporter: An engineering committee from the Jiblah municipality revealed the existence of five buildings that are liable to fall, including the building of the Water and Finance Institutions, and the necessity of evacuating them immediately due to cracks and cracks in the columns of these buildings.
