Today, the Syrian Trust for Development team in the city of Jableh received a batch of food and medical aid provided by the Serbian embassy in Damascus, to help affected families and mitigate the effects of the earthquake that affected Lattakia Governorate.

The Serbian Ambassador, Radovan Stojanovic, indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the batch of aid was prepared at the embassy headquarters as quickly as possible, in an emergency and urgent manner, with the aim of helping those affected, especially since the first hours and days are very harsh in the cold winter conditions, adding that these people left their homes without taking anything. They are in dire need of this assistance, and there will be greater assistance in the future.

The Serbian ambassador pointed out, after seeing the huge amount of damage left by the earthquake, especially in Jableh, that what happened in Syria is a national catastrophe, and it is the right time for everyone to join hands and cooperate to help the people in need.

In his turn, Walid Raffoul, the honorary consul of Serbia in Syria, expressed his happiness at the initiative of the Serbian ambassador, and his good and sincere feelings towards the Syrian people and the positive morale that this gesture gives, and that the Serbian government is in the process of preparing aid and sending it as soon as possible, and coordinating with the concerned authorities to deliver it to those who deserve it, hoping that it will be A balm that alleviates the wounds and suffering of the Syrians, noting the historical relations that bind the people and government of Syria and Serbia.

In his turn, Yamen Mualla, the leader of the Syrian Trust for Development team in the city of Jableh, said that the team consisting of 20 young men and women has been in Jableh for three days and they are doing their best

On the ground, whether in the process of removing rubble, or communicating with the Endowments Directorate to inspect the conditions of the affected people in mosques and secure their basic needs.

Mualla pointed out that the assistance provided by the Serbian embassy in Damascus includes 200 blankets, foodstuffs (canned food), medicines and medical equipment, stressing cooperation and networking with those in charge of shelter centers, as there is a center in the stadium in Jableh, while numbers of families are distributed in mosques to conduct statistics and identify the most people. A need to ensure fairness in the distribution of aid and its delivery to those in need.
