President Bashar Al-Assad received a Lebanese ministerial delegation headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in the caretaker government, Abdullah Bou Habib.

The members of the delegation conveyed to President al-Assad the condolences and solidarity of Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and all members of the government with Syria, following the earthquake that it was exposed to, stressing that this visit comes to offer condolences and a duty of assistance.

Because the Lebanese consider themselves partners in the grief of what happened, and they must stand with the Syrian people in this ordeal.

The members of the delegation presented to President al-Assad the measures and decisions taken by the caretaker government, in order to provide assistance and coordination with the Syrian institutions working on the ground for rescue and relief, and indicated Lebanon's readiness to open airports and ports to receive aid that comes to Syria from any country or party.

In turn, President al-Assad thanked the delegation for the practical measures taken by the Lebanese government to provide and facilitate the delivery of aid to Syria, which achieve real effects on the ground and leave a moral impact on the Syrian people.

President al-Assad stressed the importance of cooperation between Lebanon and Syria in all fields, based on the capabilities that the two countries possess, and the common interests that unite them.

The delegation included the Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamiyah, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Hector Hajjar, the Minister of Agriculture, Abbas Hajj Hassan, the head of the Higher Relief Commission, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and the Director of the Arab Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.

Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Minister Bou Habib and the accompanying delegation, who offered condolences on behalf of the leadership and people of Lebanon to the leadership and people in Syria, where the delegation wished mercy for the victims and healing for the wounded, and expressed Lebanon's full solidarity with Syria, and put its capabilities alongside the Syrian capabilities to overcome this catastrophe. .
