The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court today (Wednesday) convicted Boaz Drori, 56 years old from Givatayim, who admitted as part of a plea deal to sexually harassing Prime Minister Sara Netanyahu's wife in a post he published on Twitter.
Judge Yaron Gat sentenced Drori to two months' probation as well as NIS 800 in compensation to Netanyahu, taking into account his personal and financial situation and the fact that the words were not said directly in front of her.
Drori admitted and was convicted that during the month of March 2019 he posted on the Twitter account he managed under the nickname "drori boaz", which was followed by about a thousand surfers, a tweet in which he wrote: "I am such a patriot that I feel a national duty to put Sara Netanyahu on ... and then with Jewish strength and determination Zionist ... in the back".
The prosecution claimed during the arguments for punishment that "the actions attributed to the accused should not be taken lightly. The accused chose to comment on the platform in order to address the complainant with a derogatory and humiliating expression regarding her sexuality. The aforementioned publication was published widely. Today's reality is characterized by accessibility to platforms and we as a society should not agree to offensive expressions on these platforms."

The defense attorney stated that Drori regrets that the words were written the way they were written, and that he decided not to handle the case in order not to make it a "media circus" and also out of an understanding of the seriousness of the things.
The plea agreement only included an agreement regarding the suspended prison sentence.
The indictment was not amended as part of it and the matter of the settlement was brought to the attention of Sara Netanyahu.
The case was handled by attorney Or Arber from the cyber department at the state attorney's office.
