A one-and-a-half-year-old toddler and a 30-year-old woman were seriously injured this evening (Wednesday) in a fire that broke out in an apartment in a residential building on Dov Yosef Street in Be'er Sheva.
Another 50-year-old woman was moderately injured and two others slightly.
A medical team arrived at the scene and treated the injured, evacuating them to Soroka Hospital in the city.
Deputy Director of the Department of Operations at the MDA, Adir Bitan, who managed the medical treatment, said: "This is a fire on the second floor of a four-story building.
The fire brigade rescued the victims who inhaled smoke from several apartments in the building to us and we immediately received them in intensive care vehicles and in ambulances that were deployed with all the appropriate medical equipment on the street."

"Two victims, a 30-year-old woman and a one-and-a-half-year-old toddler were in serious condition, a 50-year-old woman was moderately injured and two other victims were in a minor condition," Beitan continued.
"We gave all the victims medical treatment with oxygen and evacuated them to the hospital while the woman who was injured in a serious condition was sedated and ventilated and the other victims were conscious."
