Egyptian political sociology professor Dr. Mohamed Sayed Ahmed condemned the economic blockade and the unjust sanctions that Syria has been subjected to for years, indicating that in light of the new humanitarian catastrophe it was exposed to after the earthquake, the free people of the world must move to drop these sanctions immediately.

Sayed Ahmed said in a statement to SANA reporter in Cairo: The Syrian Arab people need all support and support in light of the earthquake disaster that came in light of the existence of an economic blockade, and therefore international organizations must support Syria to face the repercussions of this disaster and move to lift the sanctions imposed on the Syrian people who are in Urgent need now for medical, food and other aid.

For his part, Haitham al-Sharabi, leader of the Egyptian National Progressive Unionist Party, said in a similar statement: “We demand that the siege be lifted on brotherly Syria, and we call on the international community and global public opinion to listen to the groaning of mothers and children who suffer as a result of this blockade and unjust penalties,” expressing his condolences.
