Knesset member Danny Danon submitted a bill today (Wednesday) to provide tax benefits to the residents of Judea and Samaria, following the security risk they take due to their place of residence, Israel Hayom learned.
After leading a fight in the Knesset in favor of evicting Khan al-Ahmar, Danon continues the aggressive line against the government.
This time it is an initiative that is actually the realization of a commitment in the Likud's coalition agreement with the religious Zionist party.
one step forward
The timing, a little more than a month after the establishment of the government, is not accidental.
The coalition agreement between the Likud and religious Zionism clearly states: "Starting in 2023, the distortion will be corrected in relation to residents who live in areas with a high level of security risk in the Yash, so that they will be entitled to tax benefits, similar to residents of other threatened settlements." While the tax benefits were given to northern settlements - Acre, Tiberias And 11 Israeli Arab cities and villages, the tax benefit for the Jewish people has not yet been promoted."

MK Danon's bill, his first for the 25th Knesset, proposes to give all settlers in Yosh 25 points to be calculated as part of the total score for providing tax benefits according to law.
Furthermore, the bill guarantees the benefits to settlements with a security threat level of 2 to 5, while in the coalition agreement it was agreed that the benefits will only be granted from threat level 3 and above.
"Standing against terrorism"
"Yosh areas are prone to a constant calamity of piracy and terrorist incidents," the explanatory notes to the bill state.
"The State of Israel has a clear interest in the settlement of Israelis anywhere in the West Bank.
This is the birthplace of the Jewish people in the historic Land of Israel.
The bill proposes to stop the existing discrimination against Yosh residents and to compare those living in settlements with a high level of risk to similar settlements in the south and north.
The settlement has faced continuous terrorism for many years, it must be encouraged, among other things, by providing tax benefits." A bill identical to Danon's was submitted in the 20th Knesset by the person who currently serves as Minister of Finance, Bezalel Smotrich. "The time has come for the State of Israel to stop the discrimination Towards the brave settlers," MK Danon told Israel Hayom.
"They should be given the tax benefit given to other localities in risk areas."
