Four Emirati, Jordanian, Indian and Pakistani planes arrived at Damascus International Airport today, loaded with relief, food and medical humanitarian aid for those affected by the earthquake.

In a statement to SANA reporter, the Pakistani ambassador to Syria, Shahid Akhter, explained that this ordeal that Syria is going through transcends borders and all lines and is characterized by a humanitarian dimension, so all parties must provide the necessary assistance and support in this regard, indicating that Pakistan has always been with Syria and stands today and will stand with it in The future will be supportive of it in any circumstances it goes through, and this aid is a gift that the Pakistani people and their government present to their Syrian brothers in difficult circumstances.

Ambassador Akhter explained that the aid estimated at more than 40 tons, mostly from family tents and sanctuaries, and in the coming days, and in coordination between the two governments, more aid will come, as food and medical supplies are expected to arrive on a plane next Friday.

Regarding the Indian relief aid plane that arrived at Damascus airport this morning, Chargé d'Affaires of the Indian Embassy in Damascus, Satinder Kumar Yadav, stated that India feels the extent of the disaster that befell Syria and the difficult times that the Syrian people are going through, and its haste to provide aid stems from the friendly relations and old friendship that bind the two countries. .

Yadav indicated that the aid plane carries 6 tons of medical supplies and medicines, pointing out that another relief plane will arrive in Syria within 24 hours.

In turn, Dr. Basil Al-Kayed, Chargé d'Affairs at the Jordanian Embassy in Damascus, announced that the aid plane that arrived was provided by the Jordanian people to the Syrian people, under the directives of King Abdullah II, and includes all kinds of humanitarian aid.

Al-Kayed indicated that the plane carries 10 tons of relief, food and medical materials, stressing that Jordan will provide everything it can to Syria in these circumstances.

For his part, the Assistant Minister of Local Administration and Environment, Moataz Dohji, stated that the relief materials that arrived today from friendly and brotherly governments (UAE, Jordan, India, Pakistan), will be shipped from Damascus International Airport to the governorates affected by the earthquake immediately, indicating that the operations room In the Ministry, you follow up all relief work, moment by moment.

The Assistant Minister of Education, Dr. Mahmoud Bani Al-Marjah, who was receiving the aid plane from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, stressed that the rapid response of the Pakistani government towards the devastating earthquake that struck Syria reflects the brotherhood and sincerity of the deep-rooted relations between the two countries, stressing that coordination took place between the two parties for the arrival of more aid. in the coming days.
