On Tuesday night, the President of the Nation received the mayors of the province of Buenos Aires with a barbecue, accompanied by his Minister of Economy,
Sergio Massa
.
In a meeting where there
were notorious failures, such as the mayors of La Cámpora and La Matanza
, they spoke of the political table that Alberto Fernández convened, of the resources that the communal chiefs expect the Nation to give them and also, of the campaign election to come, where Peronism puts its current national and Buenos Aires power at stake.
There, the main stretch was when
Minister Massa spoke of a possible candidacy of his.
And also, he asked the President to define whether or not
to be a candidate for re-election.
As Clarín was able to reconstruct, Massa defended the call for a political table by saying that "there must be a table of the Frente de Todos and rules for a STEP" that defines the candidates.
And he remarked that
"the President has to decide if he is going to be a candidate or not soon. And enable competition to broaden the offer

According to several of the community chiefs present, the Economy Minister said that "there is no way to conclude policies with the opposition because there are no chiefs. There are tribes in dispute."
He expressed that "an electoral strategy is needed for the provinces that advance."

And to the mayors, he told them that "the money problems that a municipality may have are not discussed in meetings that appear in the newspapers and that everyone has their phone", by virtue of the 10,000 million that the municipalities are already demanding to face the election period this year.
The absences to the appointment were those of La Cámpora
were the mayors Mayra Mendoza (Quilmes), Leandro Boto (Luján) and Juan Ustarroz (Mercedes).
Also Fernando Espinoza, from the populous district of La Matanza

After the meeting, several attendees spoke.
The Minister of Public Works -and political chief of the San Martín district- Gabriel Katopodis
said on radio 990 that "we have to understand that the FdT is bigger than Cristina, Alberto, Massa, and the governors, there are sectors, groups that also make it up" "You have to understand that they were years that messed up people's lives and also Peronism. We want to tell the militants that we are going to settle our differences and that we learned from those fights we had "
For his part, the mayor of Ituzaingó,
Alberto Descalzo
, spoke on FM Delta and pointed out that "it was important for us to talk to the President about how the suburbs are doing."
And he added that "if we do not agree in the municipalities and there is no candidate to ensure victory, surely there will be STEP in some cities."
Finally, Fabián Cagliardi, mayor of Berisso, said that the dinner "was very enjoyable"; and that the President "said that he was going to defend the Frente de Todos, that he hopes that we are all united.
And he left open the possibility of being a candidate.
