Kalmobil, an importer of Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Genesis and Mercedes, has joined the growing club of car importers marketing Chinese cars in Israel.

The brand it launched as a car is called Ora, which joins no less than 16 car brands that come to us today from China and should be (like its competitors) a major growth engine in the next year at least.

The Ora brand is the second brand to be branded in Israel among the five brands of the Chinese automobile giant Great Wall Motors, joining here the premium brand WEY that was launched here a few months ago by Semlat Group.

In Great Wall's hierarchy, it is the popular electric vehicle division, which was developed mainly for the European market.

The first model introduced by the brand and with which it began its activities in Israel, the company is starting operations Funky Cat, an electric hatchback family that has no real competitors here today after the Nissan Leaf has ceased marketing, but internationally it also competes with models such as the Volkswagen ID.3, Copra Bourne and the new MG4 that will also arrive in Israel soon.

The Funky Cat has an unconventional design in a retro style, somewhat reminiscent of Mini, Porsche or the new Beetle models and will be offered in no less than 28 customizable color combinations.

The dimensions are accepted among hatchback families with a length of 423 cm and a width of 182 cm, but this is an unusual height figure of 160 cm.

The wheelbase is 265 cm, and the car has a smaller trunk than usual with a volume of only 228 liters.

Under the hood you will find an electric motor producing 171 hp with which you can accelerate to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 160 km/h.

Customers will be able to choose between two battery versions: 48 kWh which guarantees a driving range of up to 310 km and 63 kWh which guarantees a driving range of up to 420 km according to the manufacturer's data.

The charging time through a home AC charging station is around 5.5 hours for the entry-level version and 6.5 hours for the longer-range version, but the model also supports fast DC charging that allows charging from 10% to 80% in 41 minutes (about 50 minutes ' in the long range version).

The cabin of the funky was designed in a "clean" style with a relative minority of switches, a 10.25" digital dashboard and multimedia with a 10.25" screen that controls most of the vehicle's systems.

The equipment is already rich from the basic finish level and also includes: "vegan" leather seats, electrically adjustable front seats, keyless entry and drive, light 18" rims, rear parking sensors, 360 degree cameras, a wireless mobile charging pad, while the higher finish level also includes Electric sunroof, electric trunk door, heating, ventilation and massaging front seats.

In the long-range version, a "GT" trim level will also be offered, which includes an exterior and interior design package in a sporty, but slightly embellished, style.

The model has an impressive standard safety specification that includes 7 airbags and a full array of active driving aids, when it recently won a score of 5 stars in the European crash test, and the title of the safest car in the compact category.

Ora models will be granted a 5-year warranty, while the battery warranty is 8 years or 160,000 km.

The price for the 300 version is set at NIS 144,900 (and NIS 153,900 for the equipped version), while the price for the long-range version is set at NIS 171,900 (NIS 184,900 for the GT version).

As part of the pre-sale, 900 customers who secured the car armor will benefit from a reduced price, before the tax increase, which will come into effect at the beginning of 2023 at a rate of NIS 7 to 10 thousand less than the stated prices.
