More than 1.5 billion pounds donated by Homs industrialists and businessmen to those affected by the earthquake

The financial donations provided by Homs industrialists and businessmen exceeded one and a half billion Syrian pounds, in addition to in-kind donations that included medicines, first-aid materials, food, and others. These were placed at the disposal of the governorate and the relief sub-committee to mitigate the effects of the earthquake and to take full readiness, in anticipation of any emergency.

The head of the Homs Chamber of Industry, Labib al-Akhwan, explained in a statement to SANA reporter that the emergency office formed in the Homs Chamber of Industry has continued its work since last Monday to collect financial and in-kind donations, after an emergency meeting called for by the governorate with the aim of coordinating and putting donors’ efforts into one crucible, to help our people in the affected areas. From the earthquake in the Syrian governorates, and to put all the capabilities of the private sector in terms of mechanisms at the disposal of the Readiness Office in Homs.
