On the occasion of the Nice carnival festivities "King of the Treasures of the World", a specific traffic and parking system will be put in place from February 11 to 26, indicates the town hall in a press release.
Throughout the duration of the event - during which 200,000 revelers are expected -, the latter advises users to favor public transport and thus avoid driving to the area of downtown Masséna / Old Nice.
Disruption on the roads
Given the importance of the carnival and the disruption expected on the public highway, it is recommended to follow the signaling and information system put in place for the dates below:

from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Tuesday, February 14
from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Wednesday February 15
from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Saturday February 18
from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Tuesday, February 21
from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Wednesday February 22
from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Saturday February 25
from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.

from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
In fact, on the days mentioned above, the following axes will be completely closed to traffic:
Promenade des Anglais: south carriageway from rue Sauvan to avenue Max Gallo
Promenade des Anglais: northern carriageway from rue Max Gallo to rue Gambetta

Place Massena
Liautaud tunnel from the Max Gallo entrance to the Port exit
Rue Desboutin
Boulevard Jean-Jaurès from Place Masséna to the Crotti descent
Avenue Félix-Faure from rue Gubernatis to place Masséna

Rue Saint-François de Paule between rue Desboutin and avenue Max Gallo

The municipality therefore invites you to favor the Mathis route and the A8 motorway.
In addition, entering and leaving Old Nice can be done via the Crotti descent.
Traffic will also be reversed on the quai des Etats-Unis and the quai Rauba Capeu, at the port.
City parking
With regard to access to car parks, the city indicates that provisions have also been made to facilitate parking:
“Parcazur” relay
car parks: free car parks for users of the Lignes d'Azur network.
Corvesy:
entrance via rue Alexandre Mari, exit via Calada Escoffier - Crotti descent (except 26/02 from 6:20 p.m. to 7:50 p.m. exit closed)
Masséna:
entrance and exit closed
Meridian:
closed entrance, free exit rue Maccarani
Courthouse:
exit closed on 02/26 from 6:20 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.
Palais de la Méditerranée:
entry and exit possible (rue du Congrès in both directions)
Palais Masséna:
entrance and exit via rue de France
Plaza:
entrance and exit closed (except 17/02 from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. exit possible)
Saleya:
exit via les Ponchettes towards the port.
(Exit closed on 02/26 from 6:20 p.m. to 7:50 p.m.)
Sulzer:
entrance closed, exit only in the direction of the port (except 26/02 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. exit closed)

A "carnival" offer is also planned in the car parks, Nice Étoile, Port Lympia and the Lighthouse.
Thus, 5 hours of parking will be charged five euros on presentation of the carnival ticket of the day.
Public transport
Finally, with regard to public transport, disruptions are expected despite the measures taken by the town hall:
Tram line 1
Carousel tramway from Henri Sappia to Jean-Médecin.
Descent to Jean-Médecin, no passengers until Masséna (Massena station closed).
At the end of the event, opening of the Masséna station;
carousel tramway from Hôpital Pasteur to Garibaldi;
Opéra/Vieille Ville station closed;
Cathedral/Old Town station closed.
On Saturdays February 11, 18 and 25, 2023, the tramway will be in carousel later than the general system, until 1 a.m.
Line 2 of the tram will run normally.
Connections for lines 1 and 2 will be at the Jean Médecin and Garibaldi stop.

8, 12, 38 and 57
Saturdays February 11, 18 and 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m.;
Sunday February 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.;
Tuesdays February 14 and 21 from 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.;
Wednesdays February 15 and 22 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.;
Friday February 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.;
Sunday February 26 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. (lines 8 and 12).
The other lines will run normally.
