A number of Omani journalists and members of the Syrian community in Oman expressed their full solidarity with Syria following the earthquake that hit it the day before yesterday, calling for lifting the unjust Western blockade imposed on it.

Hatim bin Hamad al-Taie, a member of the Omani State Council and editor-in-chief of the daily Al-Roya newspaper, expressed in a special statement to SANA reporter in Muscat the condolences of the Omani people to the families of the victims and the afflicted, calling on the Arab countries and the international community to provide aid to the Syrian people and alleviate their suffering.

Muhammad al-Balushi, editor-in-chief of the Omani newspaper, Al-Shabiba, stressed that the earthquake that hit Syria and the victims and losses it caused requires the international community to provide assistance by lifting the unjust sanctions imposed by the West, stressing that these unjust sanctions limit the ability of the Syrian government to face the repercussions of the earthquake and provide support and support. to the affected areas.

In his turn, Musa Al-Fari, the editor-in-chief of Atheer Media Corporation, said in a similar statement: No language can reflect part of the pain caused by this large number of victims, considering that in light of these repercussions, all political differences and conflicts should fall, and human values ​​should advance and be at the forefront of the scene. The siege on Syria should be lifted, and the brothers should race to help it and stand by


it.

The Omani writer and journalist Suleiman Al-Maamari stressed that what our people in Syria have been subjected to requires us, as Arabs, in our governmental and private institutions and charitable societies, to come to their aid, calling for the lifting of this unjust siege because it is a great disgrace against humanity.


For their part, members of the Syrian community in the Sultanate of Oman organized a donation campaign to support those affected by the earthquake, as dozens of them flocked to the headquarters of the Syrian embassy in Muscat.

Engineer Yasser Asaad, who has been residing in the Sultanate for ten years, said: “Our feelings are with our people in Syria, and we are working hard to send a message to the whole world about the need to lift the unjust siege on our country, and we will, with the sons of the community and the Syrian embassy in Muscat, do everything we can to alleviate the suffering of our brothers, which is what we look at.” It is a debt we owe to our country.”

Dr. Nahla Karim, a lecturer at Sultan Qaboos University who has resided in the Sultanate for 20 years, considered that this blockade to which Syria is subjected is causing great suffering to our people, and an international move is required to lift it, stressing her confidence that Syria will remain strong and steadfast despite all the challenges.

Sheikh Tamer Al-Amouri of the Al-Akidat tribe called for lifting the unjust siege imposed on the Syrian people, and said: “We call on the Arab peoples to stand with us to lift this injustice on Syria.”

Khaled Ali Annan, from the province of Hama and residing in the Sultanate for 13 years, said: "Syria is able to rise despite the difficulties," stressing that the people of the community will do everything in their power to help their affected brothers in Syria and to raise the voice to lift the unjust sanctions on our country as soon as possible.

Louay Musa appealed to all expatriate brothers in the Sultanate of Oman and everywhere to support their families in Syria to overcome this difficult ordeal, calling on all countries of the world to work to lift the siege on the oppressed Syrian people, and Qusai Hassan called on all free people in the world to unite to lift this unjust siege on the Syrian people. And the initiative to send all possible assistance to our people there.

Talib Othman called on the peoples of the world to lift the unjust siege imposed on Syria and its people, and said: “Our people are suffering because of this unjust siege, and we must stand by them and provide all the assistance required to overcome this ordeal they are going through.”
