Debates on government pensions began Monday, February 6 in the National Assembly, in an electric atmosphere.
For this reform, the government has chosen to go through an amending bill on the financing of Social Security (PLRFSS).
A particular legislative vehicle which limits the duration of discussions in the two chambers and which also allows the government, if necessary, to use article 49-3 of the Constitution at any time to have its text adopted.
Here is the legislative timetable for this reform, which may be subject to change depending on whether or not 49-3 is used.

From February 6 to 17: debates at the Assembly
For fifteen days, the discussions therefore take place in the Hemicycle of the Palais Bourbon.
They will end no matter what happens at the end of the twenty-day period given to the National Assembly, ie February 18 at 00:01.
And will then leave for the Senate.
Three hypotheses are possible:
The text was voted on by the assembly
The government has assumed responsibility for its adoption by using article 49-3 of the Constitution
The discussion has not been completed due to too many amendments - more than 20,500 have been tabled - and the government will have to send the text to the Senate as required by article 47-1 of the Constitution.
Initial bill, modified, if necessary, by the amendments voted by the National Assembly and accepted by the executive
The week of February 27
The examination of the bill takes place within the Senate's Social Affairs Committee.
The week of March 6: discussions in session in the Senate
The bill will then appear in public session in the Senate.
The discussions will not be able to last beyond March 13, at midnight, due to the scheduled legislative time scheduled for the PLFSS.
From Tuesday March 14
Continuation of the shuttle: the text could be studied this week within a joint joint commission which will bring together seven deputies and seven senators to try to find an agreement.
After the joint committee (until March 28 at midnight)
Reading of the conclusions of the joint committee in session at the National Assembly, with possible solemn vote of the deputies.
The fifty-day period authorized to adopt the text expires on Tuesday March 28 at midnight.
If the Parliament has not decided, the various measures may be implemented by ordinances.
