Next Thursday (16th) when Guanyin opened its warehouse, a theft occurred at the Guanyin Temple in Hung Hom.
At 0:21 a.m. today (8th), the police received a report from a woman that she saw a suspicious man sneaking into the Guanyin Temple in the mission hall through the side door and stealing money from the sesame oil box.
CCTV footage shows the man using a ruler to reach into the oil tank to "pull out" the money.
The police went to the scene to search, but found nothing yet, and the case was temporarily classified as "burglary".

The Guanyin Temple in Hung Hom is famous for its "Guanyin Loan Bank". According to the data, the Guanyin Temple in the Hung Hom Mission Hall was built in the 12th year of Tongzhi in the Qing Dynasty (1873). It has a history of 150 years and is now listed as a first-class historical building in Hong Kong.
The forehead of the "Guanyin Temple" and the door couplet "The lotus under the seat has a beautiful view of the West Lake in March, and the willows in the vase come to the South China Sea for a branch of spring" were both engraved in the 15th year of Guangxu (1889).
There are four Avalokitesvara festivals every year, which are on the 19th day of February, June, September and November of the lunar calendar; and the 26th day of the first lunar month is the day when Avalokitesvara opens its warehouse. Many people believe that the Avalokitesvara Temple in the mission hall Borrowing treasury will be more effective, so the incense here is the most prosperous, attracting a large number of believers to visit for many years.
The 26th of the first month of this year is the 16th of February in the Western calendar, which is next Thursday.
