The Marolas versus the Cabrales, the revenge story behind the homicide of the 4-year-old girl

2023-02-08T21:50:29.616Z

A clan rivalry on 11-1-14 with another from the Illia neighborhood terrifies the residents of Bajo Flores. On Tuesday they killed Nayla Noemy Torrilla.

Bajo Flores has a history of violence, of homicides in the context of reckoning, which breaks any statistical trend.

Intentional homicides there do not drop as in other more affluent neighborhoods in the City of Buenos Aires.

Narcos fighting for the territory, clans confronted by cross deaths, gangs that usurp neighbors' houses to set up their bunkers, fights for the succession of this or that organization.

The problems are many, just like the wars.

The best known is the one that has faced the Peruvian drug traffickers for decades, who control seven hectares of Villa 1-11-14.

However, Tuesday's attack - which ended with 4-year-old Nayla Torrilla fatally shot in the chest -

has nothing to do with them

.

The scene of the war in which the girl was trapped takes place on the other side of Avenida Riestra, the closest to the San Lorenzo soccer field.

And everything seems to indicate that what happened revolves around the

González

, an Argentine family known as

"Los Marola"

.

Identified by the nickname someone once gave the first Marola (today the grandfather of the clan) the Marola have a hard core and their small army of soldiers.

Although they began as "jets" it is said that today they control an entire sector of the town, where they do what they want.

A murga that responds to them, called

"Los Autenticos Reyes del Ritmo"

reached the police pages twice.

In January 2016, she was shot with rubber bullets by the Gendarmerie.

Its founder, Gustavo Marola González, received ten rubber bullets in the back and one of his sons, then 14 years old, was also wounded.

In March of that same year, the murga was attacked by a group of hooded men.

The Marolas and the Villa 11-1-14

The Marolas usually meet at the corner of Bonorino and Calle 10 inside Villa 1-11-14.

On Tuesday night they were there, grabbing and

displaying their wide range of weapons on their Facebook profiles.

The hypothesis is that their enemies saw the posts and went after them.

They say in the neighborhood that the Marolas had arrived that same night from the Atlantic Coast and that they had not just gone on vacation, but had moved away from the neighborhood to

cool things down after an attack

that had materialized in the neighboring Illia neighborhood against a rival clan, the

Cabrales

.

That episode occurred on Tuesday, January 24 at 10:50 p.m. in Barros Pazos and Tenorio, in Sector 5 of the Illia neighborhood.

Two men allegedly linked to the Cabrales were shot there.

What happened on Tuesday the 7th would have been revenge for that attack, which is also part of a history of cross revenge.

An example: on May 19, 2022, Alexander Abraham Cabral was assassinated.

The Cabrales always targeted the Marolas for this crime.

An important detail is that after the attack on Tuesday night in which Nayla was injured, Alexander Cabral's grandmother reported to the Gendarmerie, which is in charge of security in Bajo Flores, that one of the injured was Alexis Pintos. whom she accuses of the homicide of 2022. Pintos is a member of the Marolas and had an arrest warrant in a case for robbery.

In the neighborhood it is assured that Pintos

was also injured on Tuesday night but managed to take refuge

in the part of the town controlled by the gang to which he belongs and that is why they could not find him.

To clarify the panorama a bit: the group attacked on Tuesday night was the Marolas and they ambushed them in the epicenter of their power, near the corner of Bonorino and 10th Street.

Nayla was hit by a bullet that killed her and which was addressed to this clan.

Perhaps that is why the girl's mother came out publicly to say that the Marolas did not kill her daughter.

The thing is, the Marolas seem to have so many enemies in and around the villa that investigators have a long list of suspects to rule out.

Los Cabrales, due to the history of 2022 and two weeks ago, have more chips than others when it comes to looking for those who shot.

As the hours go by, the panorama will surely become clearer and also, many fear, there will be more shots, more injuries and also more deaths.

Not for nothing, according to the latest statistics of intentional homicides in the City, it was the villas 1-11-14 and the Rivadavia and Illia neighborhoods, where

intentional homicides tripled

: they went from 5 in 2019 to 14 in 2022.
