Once again, an AfD member of parliament appears on Russian state television and criticizes Germany.
Russia, on the other hand, is not a threat.
Berlin/Moscow – AfD politician Eugen Schmidt spoke on Russian state television about the war in Ukraine.
In the program “60 Minutes” on the Rossiya-1 channel, the member of the Bundestag not only defended Russia, but also criticized the actions of the Federal Republic and NATO.
"Russia in no way poses a threat to the world," Schmidt said.
One is now only reaping "the fruits of NATO's eastward expansion policy," said the Kazakhstan-born politician in fluent Russian.
He also claimed that the much-discussed fighter jet shipments were "real," as evidenced by past tank shipments to Ukraine.
Poland had recently agreed to deliver combat aircraft under certain conditions.
The federal government has so far rejected such a step.
The USA has also put a stop to the demands.

AfD politicians visiting Russia's propagandists: "Foreign policy agenda" dictates Germany
With Schmidt, the second AfD politician was a guest on Russian state television within a week.
Previously, Steffen Kotré, also a member of the Bundestag, was invited to see Putin's top propagandist Vladimir Solovyov and claimed that the majority of Germans were against supporting Ukraine.
He also attacked the German media landscape, which does "everything" to "raise the German population against Russia".
For Schmidt, however, the appearance on Russian state television was nothing new in terms of content.
The ARD magazine "Contrasts" reported last year that the politician was spreading misinformation in the Russian media.
Schmidt claimed, for example, that there was no democracy in Germany.
Furthermore, dissenting opinions are “suppressed by the ruling elite in the media, on the Internet and even through physical violence”.
In Solovyov's radio show Polni kontakt, Schmidt also railed against former Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht (SPD) and cabinets with equal representation.
In this interview, too, the AfD man commented on possible arms deliveries and insisted that "the foreign policy agenda" "dictates" German interests.
