The Patriarchs of the Antiochian See in Syria, John X, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Margnatius Aphrem II, Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Supreme Head of the Syriac Orthodox Church in the world, and Joseph I, Greek Melkite Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, Heads of Churches in Syria The United Nations and the countries imposing sanctions Syria must lift these sanctions and the unjust siege imposed on the Syrian people.
In a joint statement, a copy of which SANA received, the three patriarchs called for taking exceptional measures and immediate initiatives to secure the necessary humanitarian and relief aid after the earthquake that hit Syria last Monday.
The patriarchs appealed to people of living conscience everywhere to raise their voices loudly in order to put an end to the suffering of the Syrian people and enable them to live in dignity, which is guaranteed by the Human Rights Charter.
And the statement stated: As we pray for the victims and their families, asking for mercy for the dead and healing for the injured and injured, and for all workers in the field of relief, rubble removal and hospitalization, we appeal to governments, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, charities and lovers of good and peace wherever they are to expedite support for relief and rescue efforts away from any Political considerations.
