Kai Tak to add two bus lines and study other new routes

Yang Yongjie pointed out that the residents do not believe that the land can be returned after the "2+5" plan. He also reflected that Kai Tak will have four housing estates occupied. If only two bus lines are added, it is not enough. He urged the authorities to build a collective transportation system, such as light rail.

In addition, he said that there are currently no cultural and recreational facilities in the Kai Tak District, and asked whether the authorities can give priority to building the Kai Tak Complex in the 1J3 area.

He is also concerned about the arrangement of the underground street in Kai Tak, pointing out that the land for simple public housing will be cut off from the planning of the underground street.

He Yongxian reiterated that the land in Kai Tak will be returned for commercial use after the completion of the simple public housing project.

In terms of transportation, the Assistant Director of the Transport Department, Chow Bing-kei, pointed out that in addition to the two new bus lines, new routes are also being considered, including the bus line from the cruise terminal to Tsim Sha Tsui, and the extension of the 20A terminal to the cruise terminal.

The Permanent Secretary of the Development Bureau, Ho Pei Ling, pointed out that the 1J3 area is planned to be a complex building, including a library and an indoor swimming pool. It is hoped that it will be completed as soon as possible. The technical feasibility study will be done as soon as possible in the next 5 years, and the construction will start as soon as possible in the next 5 years.

He Peiling pointed out that the total length of the Kai Tak underground street is 1,600 meters, and 70% of it has a firm plan, and part of it has already started construction. The remaining 30% including the underground part of the simple public housing will be developed by relevant developers.

Li Huiqiong: Kai Tak sees the failure of the government's promise to promote the study of the collective transportation system

New Thinking Di Zhiyuan said that he supports the relevant funding, but is concerned about the high cost of the project. He also said that the government has forgotten to consult with residents. He believes that if the government communicates with residents more, it will help the matter.

He Yongxian said that the simple public housing project helps residents living in unsuitable environments and needs to be implemented quickly. He mentioned that the deputy director of the Housing Bureau, Tai Shangcheng, has come to the area to contact residents.

Li Huiqiong of the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment of Hong Kong said that there is a gap in the understanding of CBD2 between the residents of Kai Tak and the bureau. Residents believe that the government's goal is to build Kai Tak into a CBD2.

She pointed out that the Bureau claimed that simple public housing has added value to the community, but before the value added, Kai Tak residents have seen that many promises of the government have failed, and urged the government to speed up the construction of recreational facilities, underground streets, and research on mass transportation systems.

He Peiling pointed out that the target of the second core business district covers the entire Kowloon East, including Kai Tak and Kowloon Bay. At present, Kowloon East already has, is under construction and has approved commercial floor area of 4 million square meters, which is equivalent to the central core Commercial area, and Kai Tak has 900,000 square meters of commercial floor area that has not yet been put up for sale.

Ho Wing-yin: The tender documents state that the simple public housing must be easy to throw away and transfer to other uses

Li Zhenqiang, the election committee of the Liberal Party, said that the simple public housing project has aroused social concern. Members are worried about the cost and asked whether the simple public housing built by the authorities through assembly and synthesis technology can be reused in the future, such as being applied to sites in northern metropolitan areas or converted into dormitories use.

Ho Wing-yin said that relevant requirements will be added to the bidding of simple public housing projects. For example, the assembled units need to be easily "thrown away" and used for other purposes. It is believed that they can be applied to sites in the northern metropolitan area.

Election Committee member Chen Shaoxiong pointed out that since the simple public housing was announced in the "Policy Address" in October last year, the site has been found in just a few months, which shows that the government is doing good work and the work is worthy of recognition. The communication seemed hasty, and I hope the government will strengthen communication and explanation in the future.

He suggested that by strengthening the foundation, the height of the simple public housing can be increased to reduce the average cost of the simple public housing. He also thinks that the government can consider using dense piles so that there is no need to re-pile when the purpose is changed in the future. He believes that part of the cost can be recovered when the land is sold.

He Yongxian said that these 8 pieces of land were not easy to come by. He hoped to release the potential of each piece of land as much as possible to build more simple public housing. Piles will be driven at the site, and the ArchSD will study how to increase the reuse value of the piles.
