Kai Tak to add two bus lines and study other new routes
Yang Yongjie pointed out that the residents do not believe that the land can be returned after the "2+5" plan. He also reflected that Kai Tak will have four housing estates occupied. If only two bus lines are added, it is not enough. He urged the authorities to build a collective transportation system, such as light rail.
In addition, he said that there are currently no cultural and recreational facilities in the Kai Tak District, and asked whether the authorities can give priority to building the Kai Tak Complex in the 1J3 area.
He is also concerned about the arrangement of the underground street in Kai Tak, pointing out that the land for simple public housing will be cut off from the planning of the underground street.
He Yongxian reiterated that the land in Kai Tak will be returned for commercial use after the completion of the simple public housing project.
In terms of transportation, the Assistant Director of the Transport Department, Chow Bing-kei, pointed out that in addition to the two new bus lines, new routes are also being considered, including the bus line from the cruise terminal to Tsim Sha Tsui, and the extension of the 20A terminal to the cruise terminal.
The Permanent Secretary of the Development Bureau, Ho Pei Ling, pointed out that the 1J3 area is planned to be a complex building, including a library and an indoor swimming pool. It is hoped that it will be completed as soon as possible. The technical feasibility study will be done as soon as possible in the next 5 years, and the construction will start as soon as possible in the next 5 years.
