The Union of Scholars of the Levant called for lifting the unjust siege imposed by the United States and its allies on Syria, considering that the siege is a crime that is neither accepted by religion nor sanctioned by Sharia.
In a statement and an urgent appeal it issued today, a copy of which SANA received, the Union called on the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the League of Arab States to demand the United Nations, the UN Security Council, the countries imposing unfair sanctions on Syria, and all international agencies and organizations to lift the unjust siege, especially after the great calamity that befell the Syrian cities through The devastating earthquake that left behind thousands of martyrs, tens of thousands of afflicted people affected, and more than a hundred mosques, churches and houses of worship were destroyed.
The Union indicated that this great calamity requires everyone who claims humanity or attributes himself to religious values to be a partner in a sincere campaign to lift this unjust siege, and to defend the injustice of a people exhausted by a terrorist war imposed on them and an unjust siege that increased their pain and a disaster that befell them.
