Chairman of Tianjin-China Council: It is difficult to hire English, computer and home economics teachers

Li Yiying, chairperson of the Council of Subsidized Secondary Schools, said that both the provident fund figures and the actual situation reflect that the number of resigned teachers last year was higher than that of current teachers, but there are many reasons for this, including job change, retirement and immigration, and even early retirement has also increased significantly.

She said that although she does not know the situation of this school year, the number of resignations may drop slightly, because immigration cases may begin to decrease, and some schools themselves have surplus manpower, coupled with factors such as customs clearance, which will cause talent flow, and it is expected that there will be more manpower in the labor market .

She said with a smile that everything is still unknown, "It's really hard to estimate, first February, maybe it's not time to resign."

She said that this year, the recruitment of candidates is relatively tight, and there are difficulties in certain subjects, including English, computer and home economics. Although there are some applicants for English, they may not meet the qualification requirements of the government. The Bureau of Education responded that the bureau has also asked universities to provide additional training places.
