In Linares, Spain, a terrible episode occurred that could have ended as badly as the one in the film, but luckily for the victim, it ended abruptly when the police arrived.
Everything began to unravel on January 23 at 8:00 p.m., when a group of police officers showed up at a house in the municipality of Jaén for an alleged case of gender violence.
When the law knocked on the door, a man and a woman of Pakistani origin opened it and denied that anything bad was happening inside their house.

Consequently, the officers forced their way inside and witnessed a large man struggling with a young woman who was kneeling on a bed.
According to La Vanguardia, the man tried to prevent the girl from asking for her help by covering her mouth and holding her by her wrists.
Seeing this, the police detained the man and found that
the woman had visible marks on her arms, face and lips
.
The woman's deplorable state of health also led to the arrest of the two people who had opened the door and denied that anything unusual was happening in her house.
The detainees are none other than the parents and the former father-in-law of the victim

As if the kidnapping was not terrifying enough, everything got worse when the agents discovered that
the woman had spent at least 22 days incommunicado, gagged and barely fed

The explanation given by the detainees regarding the kidnapping and assault was that they believed that the woman "
had evil in her body
."
They kept her there because they wanted to exorcise her
.
For them, the young woman needed to “expel the demon from her body” through the intervention of a priest who would heal her by “blowing on her”.

The three detainees were transferred to police stations and placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
The victim stated that a month ago she had arrived from abroad at her parents' home and that they detained her the first day in the house against her will, leaving the front door locked to prevent her from leaving.
Of the third arrested, his ex-father-in-law, who also lived in the same house, said that he had come to Linares expressly to cure her.
