Chancellor Olaf Scholz wants to travel to Paris to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
This was confirmed by the federal government on Wednesday.
Zelenskyy is on his second trip abroad since the Russian attack on Ukraine and is currently in London.
In the evening he is to arrive in Paris.
For Scholz it is already the second physical meeting with Selenksyj.
In June, Scholz, Selenskyj, French President Emmanuel Macron and Italy's then Prime Minister Mario Draghi met in Kyiv.
A visit to Brussels was expected, but the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj is actually undertaking a small tour of Europe, which will take him to London, Paris and Brussels.
A tripartite meeting of Selenskyj with Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) and French President Emmanuel Macron is planned for Wednesday in Paris, as the federal government and the Élysée confirmed in the afternoon.
The three politicians will meet in the Élysée in the evening.
A joint dinner and short statements to journalists in advance are planned.
On Thursday, all three politicians will travel to the EU summit in Brussels.
The talks are likely to focus primarily on continued support for Ukraine in the Russian war of aggression.
Selenskyj could push for more arms deliveries, such as fighter jets.
The path to EU membership should also be an issue.
Selenskyj traveled to London in the morning and met Prime Minister Rishi Sunak there, among others.
The visits to London, Paris and Brussels are Zelensky's second trip abroad since the start of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine almost a year ago.
The Ukrainian President was in Washington in December.
