Among other things, with a rewritten version of "Über den Wolken" by Reinhard Mey - who is now taking action against the band.

Munich – Reinhard Mey is taking legal action against the band Dorfrocker.

The musicians from Oberaurach in the Lower Franconian district of Haßberge had repeatedly published videos on their Instagram page in which they made fun of the climate stickers.

In one of these videos, the village rockers sing to the melody of "Über den Wolken" by Reinhard Mey - who obviously doesn't like it at all.

The village rockers had published the video "Climate Adhesive Above the Clouds" on Instagram.

You can see a supposed climate sticker sitting on the street.

One of the village rockers is holding a newspaper under his nose with the title "Climate adhesives are flying to Bali".

And then sings: "You mustn't give a damn about the climate above the clouds.

Your fears are just lies, oh man, and tomorrow you'll be sticking yourself to something again.

And everything else that seems so important to you suddenly becomes meaningless and small.”

Mey is taking action against the village rockers' climate video with a cease-and-desist declaration

"Not in my name and with my tolerance," Mey wrote on his website for the abusive video.

Once again, "Above the Clouds" is rewritten and misused for hate speech and insults.

"This time I have to take action against it with a lawsuit."

A short time later, the angry entry on Mey's website had disappeared again.

Alexander-David Pillokat, Mey's lawyer, confirmed to the dpa that the musician had requested the band to cease performing or distributing the rewritten version of his song.

Should there be any compensation in this matter, it would go to the Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland.

The lawyer explained to BR24 that they wanted to come to an agreement out of court if possible.

The band has so far left the event uncommented.
